Books for reading

28 Jun 2008

Restocks and new stuff - True Norwegian Black Metal is a massive hardcover coffee table book of photos by Peter Beste (with an editing hand from Ugly Things regular and all-round music freak Johan Kugelberg) limited to 5000 copies and features Gorgoroth, Burzum (heaps of scans from old metal magazines covering the early 90's hysteria), Darkthrone, Emperor, Mayhem and a HEAP more. The Replacements biography is here too, Thurston Moore & Byron Coley's new book on New York No Wave is superb (both in content and presentation) and restocks of the excellent Process titles - EYE MIND (the wild tale of Roky Erickson & the 13th Floor Elevators), Moondog and the bizarre story of Father Yod. There's a whole bunch more we got in, but you gotta come into the store and see 'em...

Missing Link Online Newsletter Update

16 May 2008

So many of you will know that we have a history of producing a Shop Newsletter (dating back to the late 70's even when a little few sheet photocopy was distributed),and we've had a print one back in circulation since 2002 (which now is only produced a few times a year), so we've picked up the ball in an electronic sense at least, with an email mailout going out each and every Friday Afternoon. So our regualr Mailorder customers will see it appear in their inboxes, and if you're not getting it, but would like too, simply email Mel at our missinglink (one word) dot net dot au addy and we'll get you hooked up. If you'd also like the past few sent along, just ask. This Friday's has a pile of brand new /off the press CD's, a whole bunch of amazing Vinyl (things like a wild Seldon Hunt sleeved Acid Mothers Temple release, the latest Brian Jonestown Massacre alb on vinyl, Garage LP's, Noise Releases (usually always in red hot and limited packaging), Punk /Hardcore LP's , Folk/Psych LP's, the list goes on), plus we have in a swag of great 7" singles getting listed online also (new stuff on S-s, loads of mad hardcore etc etc..), plus we list a bunch of random Second Hand CD's (all genres, from brand new albums to classics from the 60's) with most being about $10.50 each, so a great way of getting a hold of music that you may of ummed and ahhed about but are happy to drop a bit over ten bucks on, so have a look at those and send us a msg so we can go and grab 'em for you (a few alternate choices is always good as things come and go from day to day). Arthur Magazine News... we have the new ish in stock (#29) which we've given away for years with mailorders and over the counter etc.. but due to hefty freight costs we now have a paltry dollar on it (so don't go paying $5-8 interstate) to even the balance, so if you'd like one with your orders simply mention it in the message bar and we shall include. This one has a Sparks cover story, with album by album breakdown going back to 1972 and taking us right up to the In The Red album, along with a piece on Skateboarding, lots a great reviews, and the as always interesting Bull Tongue column from Byron Coley and Thurston Moore. Eddy Current Suppression Ring LP Update ! We are still taking Pre-Orders for the Limited Edition Poster that we'll have with their great new album 'Primary Colours', but the numbers are adding up, so if you don't wanna miss it, get in touch so we can be sure to hook you up (whether you're just around the corner or from Overseas).
